Whether or not you find the exact pattern you expect on the first try, you should change it and try again to make sure that you get all of the references.

• No matter how you may choose to spell Thorn*cr*ft, keep in mind that there are a number of alternate spellings that you ought to check.

The references found by this search engine will be either web pages or some file with a name that ends in ".ged" or ".rtf". A GED file can be downloaded and used in most Genealogy programs. An RTF file can be downloaded and opened in most Word Processor programs.
