We packed up the car on Friday June 17, dropped the cats off at the cattery, and drove to Montreal where we stayed overnight. The next morning we continued to Ste Anne de Beaupré, 45 minutes the other side of Quebec City. That's where we checked in at le Club Vacances Quatre Saisons, a timeshare complex normally associated with skiing in Ste Anne. This was to be our base camp for the week.

From that point on we drove all over the region, eating our way through Quebec:

• Sunday - tour around Isle d'Orleans, lunch at the chocolaterie, buying wine and cider and cassis, sunset dinner at Les Ancetres.
• Monday - Quebec City, wandering around the Plains of Abraham, lunch at the Voo Doo Grill, a drink in the Chateau Frontenac bar over-looking the river, dinner at La Bastille just inside the city walls.
• Tuesday - walking through the Canyon Ste Anne, a local winery and some shopping, dinner at the Baker Inn, then a massage back at the resort.
• Wednesday - Baie St Paul for artisan shops and gourmet pizza, then La Malbaie and Pointe au Pic with dinner at Manoir Richelieu (wow!).
• Thursday - a morning of relaxation at the resort then back to Quebec City, wandering around the lower town and dinner at Toast.
• Friday - Whale watching in the Saguenay fjord off Baie Ste Catherine, dinner at Café du Fjord in Tadoussac.
