| | We went out to Bay Bulls one day to
go on O'Brien's Tours, a boat ride to Bird Island and through some bays where
the whales were commonly seen. This was a particularly good time to see
the whales since the capelin were hatching and all the whales in the Atlantic
drop by for a snack. |
| Michael was our guide and racconteur for the trip. |
| Lighthouse at the entrance to Bay Bulls. |
| Shoreline just outside Bay Bulls. |
| It wasn't all that cold, but it was a little damp and definitely windy. |
| | Here are the birds we saw along the
way and at Bird Island. |

| We have a Humpback tail and the spout of a friend. |
| I think this is a Humpback, looks too big for a Minke. |
| This is a Minke near Bird Island. |
| Another Minke. |
| And one more Minke (they're a little more common than Humpbacks!). |
| And another Humpback tail to wave good-bye as we head back to port. |
