| | The Baker's Brook Falls trail in Gros
Morne National Park is a moderate trail, 10 km long round trip. The
Parks Canada website describes it as: "The falls are the main attraction
of this trail, rivaled by a profusion of spring and summer wildflowers in the
bog and forest. Much of this trail is through forest, sheltered from the wind,
so be prepared for biting insects. At the riverside, follow the trail
downstream to a viewpoint over a wide step-like water falls." Many of the
pictures we took here ended up in our Wildflowers
collection. |
| Many parts oft he trail are on raised boardwalk, well maintained, easy
walking over the bog. |
| And the rest of the trail is dirt wandering through the woodlands. |
| Susan, of course, was in her cathedral. |
| She probably could have wandered around out there all day. |
| Along the trail we ran into people, almost all of whom told us to be
quiet and watch for the moose, a mother and mooselet, in the big pond coming
up ..... and of course when we got there, this is what we saw. |
| Eventually, we got to the Falls .... |
| As you can see .... |
| And here's the proof that we got there .... |
| Both of us .... |
| At the Falls we ran into a Grey Jay, very much like the one we saw last
year in Algonquin - curious and hungry. |
| This one seemed to like our apples. |
| As did his friend the Ground Squirrel. |
