Everyone was invited to meet at our house or at Susan's Mom's in Oakville.

That's where the chartered bus would pick us up to go to Niagara-on-the-Lake for dinner.

Dinner was at Hillebrand Estates Winery. Susan had worked for weeks with the staff there to plan the perfect dinner. Once again, the weather was very cooperative.

It started with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the Winemaker's Lookout.

Doesn't everyone look marvelous?

Our winery guide, Phillip, gave a brief explanation on the creation of bubbly using the "méthode champagnoise", and of course we had to try a little.

Then we moved to the vineyards to see the vines, taste the grapes and learn more about the winemaking process.

We then toured the Champagne cellar in the main building where we learned more about how the wine matures in the oak casks.

Dinner was in The Studio, an intimate, private room. The tables were beautifully arranged with more Calla Lilies and ice wine chocolates or shortbread cookies for everyone.

We presented a short slide show from the Wedding day because no one had been there except Susan and Glen, and our witnesses Susan Bodie and Debbie Lilholt.

The meal was excellent, the wine flowed, people moved around from table to table.

Of course it was necessary to have a few speeches, but we kept that to a minimum.

And finally it was time to pack up and get back on the bus for the ride back to Oakville and Toronto. A marvelous time was had by all.
