The view of St John's harbour from the top of Signal Hill.
The Colonial Building is now the home of the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Archives.
Looking across St John's harbour we see the tanks of the two stalwarts of maritime gasoline retailing: Esso and Irving. From the state of the tanks we can see who's doing well!
This is a tour boat motoring through St John's harbour.
This is the entrance to St John's harbour, looking from downtown, with Signal Hill on the left.
As we drove around Lake Quidi Vidi we saw this proud specimen overlooking the lake.
Quidi Vidi is a lake, and also a small inlet and harbour just outside St John's.  This is looking back toward the harbour's inlet.  The building on the right of the narrows is the Quidi Vidi Brewing Company, maker of such lovely beers as "1892", the year of the great fire in St. John's.
St John Anglican Cathedral, viewed from the alter, with Susan walking down the aisle.
St John Anglican Cathedral, looking at the alter area and all the stained glass windows.
St Patrick's Hall was once a convent school, but has now been turned into a fancy condo development by a local renovation company which has also done a number of other very attractive re-developments in the city.
