We decided to visit Philipsburg one day. That is the capital of the Dutch side of the island, and the port where the cruise ships dock, so the shopping is extensive.

On the way we pass over a large hill / mountain with a great view over the Simpson Bay lagoon.

And finally, we found a person to take a picture of the two of us -- proof that we were both here!

In Philipsburg we saw the young school kids playing, all in the special colours of their school.

We stopped at Hodges Wharf, kind of the centre of the town on the seaward side. From there you can find yet another jewelry store every 15 steps along the Front street.

You can see the cruise ship in harbour. Medium sized boats ferry people from the ship to Hodges Wharf.

The beach of Great Bay is just another gorgeous St Martin beach.
